NHS Gloucestershire seeks patients to help shape translation and interpretation services

Dear Patient,

NHS South West England (North) is seeking your assistance in helping shape and Translation and Interpretation services for patients using Pharmacy, Optometry and Dentistry Services in Banes, Swindon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

We are about to re-procure language services and are looking for patients who would be interested in taking part. Initially we would require a small core group of patients who could give Their views on the specifications of the tender document and then attend occasional meetings on the phone or in person over the course of the next few months to help choose the new provider.

We wish it Involve patients from the outset so That we can design the best possible service. We are committed that equality of access for patients Whose first language is not Angielski Those with sensory and communication needs, then receive the support and information they need to access services, communicate with staff and make informed Decisions about Their care and treatment. This extends to people who are Deaf or Deafblind and who might use the British (or another form of) Sign Language.

If you agree to take part we will contact you by phone or e-mail in the next couple of weeks for your feedback on the two questions below:

  • What has been good about the service you are receiving from (insert name of service provider)?
  • What could have been improved and why?

The engagement period will run from 18 June to 6 July. As time is short, we will welcome interest from the patients who RESPOND first.
